Privacy Policy

This explains what Lifting Lindsay ("we", "us") collects when you use liftinglindsay.com, what we do with it, and what you can ask us to do about it. It is written to be read, not skimmed past.

The short version
  • We collect what you give us — your email for the newsletter, your message when you contact us, and the details you share when you buy a plan.
  • We use it to send what you asked for, answer you, and coach you. That is all.
  • We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.
  • This site sets no tracking cookies and carries no advertising pixels.
  • You can unsubscribe, or ask us to see or delete what we hold, at any time by emailing support@liftinglindsay.com.

What we collect and why

Most of what we hold is information you choose to give us. A small amount is collected automatically, because that is how serving a website works.

When you join the newsletter

We collect your email address, and your first name where the form asks for it. We use them to send you the newsletter and to address it to you. The list is run by Kit, our email provider. You will be asked to confirm your address before anything is sent, and every email has a one-click unsubscribe link.

When you use the contact form

We collect your name, your email address, and your message, and we use them to reply to you. The message is delivered to our support inbox by Loops, an email delivery service.

To keep the form free of spam, it uses Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that a person is sending the message rather than a bot. To do that it looks at your IP address and signals from your browser. It is not used to identify you or to follow you anywhere else.

When you email us

We receive whatever you include in the email, along with your address, and use it to reply.

Automatically, when you visit

The site is hosted by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical information about each visit — your IP address, the type of browser and device you are using, and the pages requested — in order to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.

We may also use Umami, a privacy-focused analytics tool, to count visits and see which pages are read. Umami does not use cookies, does not build a profile of you, and does not track you across other websites. It tells us things like "this page had 200 visits this week", not who those visitors were.

Purchases, the training app, and your plan

Memberships, the Rapid Fat Loss Challenge, and the Custom Macro Plan are all bought through our training platform at train.liftinglindsay.com, which is run for us by a third-party provider. Your payment details are entered there and never pass through this website.

Once you are a client, you share information with us through the platform so that we can coach you. Depending on what you buy, that can include your goals, your training history, your schedule, your food preferences, details about your body such as weight, measurements, and progress photos, and your answers to the macro plan questionnaire. If you choose to link MyFitnessPal to the training app, we can see the nutrition data you log there.

We know this is personal. We use it for one thing: to write your plan and to coach you. We do not sell it, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not share it with anyone except the providers who run the platform on our behalf.

The FitSpace Pro app, used for the challenge's daily reporting and leaderboard, is a separate app with its own privacy policy, which applies to what you enter there.

Cookies and browser storage

This site does not set any advertising or tracking cookies, and it does not carry pixels from Facebook, Google, TikTok, or anyone else.

It stores one small item in your browser: a note that you closed the newsletter pop-up, so it does not keep reappearing. It expires after seven days, it contains nothing about you, and it never leaves your device.

Videos on the site are embedded from YouTube in its privacy-enhanced mode. The player itself still loads from YouTube's servers, so YouTube can see that it was loaded, but it sets no cookies when the page opens, and YouTube says it does not use the visit to shape what you are shown on YouTube. If you press play, YouTube's own privacy policy applies to that video.

Links to Instagram, Spotify, Apple Podcasts, the App Store, and Google Play take you to those services, and their own privacy policies apply once you are there.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising. We share it only with the service providers that run parts of our business for us, and only what each one needs:

  • Cloudflare — hosts the site, and runs Turnstile on the contact form.
  • Kit — sends the newsletter.
  • Loops — delivers contact form messages to our inbox.
  • Our training platform provider — runs train.liftinglindsay.com, including checkout, your account, and your plan.
  • Umami — counts visits, if analytics are switched on, without identifying anyone.

These providers process information on our behalf and under our instructions. Beyond them, we would only disclose your information if the law required it, to protect someone's safety, or as part of a sale or transfer of the business — in which case this policy would continue to apply to it.

Some of these providers are based in, or process information in, the United States, which may be outside the country where you live.

How long we keep it

  • Newsletter: until you unsubscribe.
  • Contact messages: for as long as it takes to deal with what you asked, and for a reasonable time afterwards in case you follow up.
  • Client information: for as long as you are a client, and afterwards only as long as we need it for our records or as the law requires — for example, tax records of a purchase.

You can ask us to delete your information sooner. See below.

Your choices and rights

You can, at any time:

  • Unsubscribe from the newsletter, using the link at the bottom of any email.
  • Ask us what information we hold about you, and for a copy of it.
  • Ask us to correct anything that is wrong.
  • Ask us to delete your information.
  • Object to how we are using it, or ask us to stop.

To do any of these, email support@liftinglindsay.com. We may need to confirm it is really you before acting on a request, and we will reply as promptly as we can and within the time the law allows.

Depending on where you live — for example in the European Union, the United Kingdom, or certain US states such as California — the law may give you further rights, including the right to complain to your local data protection authority. We honor these requests from everyone, wherever you live, and you will never be treated differently for making one.

Security

The site is served only over an encrypted connection, the contact form is protected against automated abuse, and we use established providers to handle payments and personal data rather than storing it ourselves. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable care to protect what you share with us, and if a problem ever affects your information we will tell you as the law requires.

Children

This site and our programs are for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us their information, email support@liftinglindsay.com and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If what we collect or how we use it changes, we will update this page and the date at the top of it. If a change is significant, we will make it clear on the site or tell subscribers by email before it takes effect.

Contact

Questions about this policy, or about your information, go to support@liftinglindsay.com. You can also reach us through the contact page. A real person reads every message.
